The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) UK is holding its fresh general convention this Sunday. This is the third general convention of the umbrella organisation of the UK-based 11 Nepalese indigenous nationalities.
 
General Secretary of the federation Karma Pahadi Sherpa confirmed that the Ambassador Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi will be the chief guest of the formal session of the programme. The convention will also be observed by NEFIN leaders Balkrishna Mabuhang and Suresh Alemagar as special guests. The former general secretary duo are setting up their journey to the UK after receiving visa clearance earlier this week.
 
Other main attractions of the convention will be singers trio Sagar Gurung, Priya Shrestha and Sagar Birahi, who are currently in their musical tour to the UK, will be sprinkling the Tamu Dhee Hall with their musical magics.
 
The NEFIN UK has formed three different committees for the execution of the convention. Ekendra Gurung is leading the Election Committee, joined by Bhakta Bahadur DuraSiri Limbu and Tharka Rana, whereas the Adhyaksh-Mandal comprises Sumaya RaiGanesh IjamPurna Loksom and Phurba Sherpa.
 
Bhakta Bahadur Dura, Dhan RoguBiswasdip TigelaNem Thapa and Naresh Kangmang Rai, who constitute Bidhan Sansodhan Samiti, are currently drafting the amended version of the NEFIN UK’s constitution.
 
The convention will commence at 11am and expected conclude with a cultural programme by 10 pm. Thanks to Tamu Dheeuk who are providing their Tamudhee Hall of Mychett in Surrey for free, but also offering refreshments to the attendees.
 
Meanwhile, General Secretary Karma Pahadi has announced his candidacy for the President of the NEFIN UK for the next term. Speaking at the London Nepal News‘s Facebook Live on Wednesday, Mr Pahadi said that his candidacy would be for the continuation for the NEFIN UK’s ongoing efforts to guarantee the rights of the Nepalese indigenous nationalities in the UK, Nepal and elsewhere.
